In August, USRowing named Tom Rooks as its new chief sport officer, a role focused on ensuring the safety, integrity, and growth of rowing across the country. With decades of experience as a rower, coach, and Coast Guard leader, Rooks brings passion to the organization at a time of opportunity and evolution. As chief sport officer, Rooks oversees a team responsible for everything from competition and programming to referee support, club safety, insurance, and sport development.
