Naya Tapper


Her name is Naya Tapper but some people call her NAYAONFIYA! Tapper is an Olympian and professional women's rugby player for the USA Women's Eagles Sevens team. She is originally from South Carolina and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. She attended college at The University of North Carolina, graduating in 2016 with a bachelor's degree in exercise and sports science and fluency in Spanish. Tapper began my rugby career playing for UNC in 2012. She began my professional career for the Eagles in January 2016. She currently resides in Chula Vista, California, where she has been training at the Olympic Training Center full time for five years. Tapper is currently working on building her brand and making the 2024 Paris Olympic team. Tapper had her debut in Sao Paulo, Brazil, scoring on her first try on her first touch of the ball. She then went on to win “Player of the Final” for 2017 Sydney 7s tournament. She also made the dream team at the 2017 Sydney 7s, 2017 Vegas 7s, and the 2018 San Fran World Cup, and played on the 2017 Ireland World Cup team for 15s, placing fourth overall.
