Madison Chock is one half of the most decorated ice dance team in U.S. history. She and her partner, Evan Bates — who is also her husband — have won a record seven U.S. championships, three consecutive world titles from 2023 through 2025, and Olympic gold medals in both 2022 (team event) and 2026 (team event). They also took home a silver medal in ice dance in the Milan Cortina Games earlier this year.

Chock was born in Redondo Beach, California, and started skating at age five. She is of Chinese-Hawaiian heritage on her father’s side and often shares that Hawaii is her favorite place in the world. Her full name, Madison La’akea Te-Lan Hall Chock, carries special meaning: “La’akea” means “sacred light from heaven,” and “Te-Lan” translates to “special or unique orchid” in Hawaiian. Chock has designed many of her own and her partner's costumes. She launched her own design business, Madison Chock Design, specializing in custom skating apparel.
