Originally from Charleston, West Virginia, Kayla Wygal holds a degree in psychology and a master’s degree in counseling psychology. In her current role, Wygal hires and trains judges for the competitive cheer and dance industry and partners with The Open Championship Series to train judges for all of its partner brands. Having judged for multiple event producers and on multiple score systems for more than 20 years, she has ample experience in panel judging, score review and education. This experience has made her a key player in the scoring and logistics of The Allstar World Championships, an event that currently holds a place in the Guinness Book of World Records as the largest cheerleading event in history.  

During the off-season, she travels the world judging events and leading training for athletes, judges, and choreographers in places like Australia, Mexico, London, Bermuda, and Costa Rica. A former Division I cheerleader at Liberty University, she has also owned a competitive cheer gym, coached at the collegiate level and worked in apparel sales.
