Evan Bates is one half of the most decorated ice dance team in U.S. history. He and his partner, Madison Chock — who is also his wife — have won a record seven U.S. championships, three consecutive world titles from 2023 through 2025, and Olympic gold medals in both 2022 (team event) and 2026 (team event). They also took home a silver medal in ice dance in the Milan Cortina Games earlier this year.

Bates, a proud native of Ann Arbor, Michigan, first stepped onto the ice at just four years old and began competing a year later. He became the 52nd member of his family to graduate from the University of Michigan. He and his wife reside in Montreal.
