Dr. Monique Burton
Dr. Monique Burton is a clinical professor in the Department of Pediatrics and Orthopedics and Sports Medicine. She is a board-certified pediatrician with a certification of added qualification in Sports Medicine. She completed her pediatrics residency at Children’s Hospital Oakland and a primary care sports medicine fellowship at UCLA. She is the medical director of the Sports Medicine Program at Seattle Children’s. Dr. Burton is also the chair of USA Track and Field Sports Medicine and Science Committee and has been a volunteer team physician for international teams since 2005 including the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games and 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. She serves as chair of AMSSM DEI Subcommittee and is on the Leadership Team of King County Play Equity Coalition. Dr. Burton was a collegiate gymnast at University of Pennsylvania and enjoys all aspects of physical activity, sports, exercise, and movement medical care. She believes in a holistic approach to care and enjoys working together with her patients and athletes to create an individualized plan so they may reach their own unique physical activity, sports, and wellness goals. She also has a strong interest in equitable access to play and physical literacy.
