Darren Hughes is the bid lead for the Salt Lake City–Utah Committee for the Games (SLC–UT). His primary role is the guide the SLC–UT through the IOC’s Future Host Election Process.

Hughes is a leading expert in the bidding for and delivery of major events. Over the past 25 years, he has worked with nearly all editions of the Olympic and Paralympic Games and several major event owners and organizers across myriad projects, with particular emphasis in the areas of bid management, people and event planning.
